This service week allowed me to see the greatness in all people. It was both fulfilling and rewarding to see the homeless people and the other workers combined show their true potential, the true meaning of the word Common Good. Becuase we are made in God's likeness and image, we all have the qualities of God. That meaning, we are able, through God's help, to be who we really are. It was a real eye opener when we actually sat down and talked to the people that we helped. They had amazing stories and in the middle of them telling their stories, I was in a shock becuase of all the great things that they've done. It also came to me that it is important to allow people like them, to show their true character and their full potential. Some sacrifices that I had to make was forgetting about me, and them be them. It's not all about Corey, and it took me a while to grasp that concept.
Respect is a true and detailed rule to see the wellbeing of others. In order for me to get the respect from them, I had to do the same for them. It amazed me because, they have more to offer than some of the smartest people i know. Everyone should be able to express themselves and bring their ideas, gifts, and talents to the big table for all to see. My peers at MSJ are great people and they have personalities and amazing gifts. Some of them havent been able to expierence Common Good because they havent been reconigzed. Ive learned to respect them, my siblings, my neighbors, parents, and others so that they can be allowed to reach their full potential
